Will Dr. Sheldon see me in consultation for my issue?
Dr. Sheldon treats people for knee and hip arthritis as well as knee pain due to meniscus tears, knee cap (patella) pain, knee injuries and knee pain not yet diagnosed. She also performs ultrasound guided injections of knee and hip joints, and also for arthritis of glenohumeral joints and ankle joints.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Sheldon?
Yes, a referral from a physician is required as well as recent xrays of the affected joint. If you have seen Dr. Sheldon in the past you may need new xrays and a new referral, especially if you haven't seen her in over two years.
What do I need to bring to an appointment?
If your appointment is for a knee issue please bring shorts or pants that can be easily pulled up above your knee. We do have shorts you may use in the office.
Please bring braces you have for the affected joint.
Please bring a valid Health Card.
We do not allow you to wear your outdoor shoes in the office as Dr. Sheldon performs injections in the exam rooms.
Are there any special instructions for my first appointment?
Please have your Health History and Consent Form filled out as soon as possible after booking your appointment.
If your visit is for knee pain please review the education information on this website regarding using a stationary bike and working on your quadricep muscles which can decrease your pain substantially prior to seeing Dr. Sheldon.

Your consultation visit and follow up visits are covered by OHIP as long as you have a valid health card. Some procedures, bracing and medications are not covered by OHIP but may be covered by your extended health care plan. We accept cash, e-transfer and credit card for these costs but we do not accept cheques or American Express.
Missed appointment Policy
If you do not call to cancel your appointment and don't show up to your appointment then there is a rebooking fee to be paid prior to scheduling any future appointments with Dr. Sheldon.
